Treasure Chests are littered throughout Thedas and the Fade in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Containing upgrade materials, equipment, and gold, collecting Treasure Chests is an efficient way to level up your character without spending all your money at shops.

Some treasure chests don't appear on the map, even if you've explored the area they're in. This is because they're blocked by a barrier, found in a secret passage, or appear after completing certain requirements. You'll want to revisit the regions multiple times as you progress through the game.

Treasure chests can also be trapped. Pay attention to the left side of the chest as you go to open it. If there's a green gas coming out, move away after you interact with it. You'll hear ticking counting down how long you have to clear the area. Staying near the Treasure Chest will cause Necrosis upon opening.

Arlathan Forest Treasure Chest Locations

There are 11 Treasure Chests to find in Arlathan Forest.

Shoreside Ruins Floating Treasure Chest

You can grab this treasure chest during Harding's companion quest An Unfamiliar Sense. When you're at the Beacon, go back towards the path and have Harding drop the rock to the left. Climb over and into the next section.

The chest is found at the top of a floating piece of ruin. Use Harding’s ability and climb to reach it, jumping to the final platform.

Shoreside Ruins Treasure Chest

This is another treasure chest you can get during Harding's quest, or you can return for it later. To the left of the Shoreside Ruins Beacon is a branch that you can use to cross to the remaining area.

There you'll find a small room with a barrier across it, preventing you from getting the treasure chest. Go to the back of the ruin, where you can use Bellara's ability to disable the barrier.

Tattered Bridge Treasure Chest

To reach the treasure chest past the barred entrance on the Tattered Bridge, take the zip line to the ground. Go up the ladder at the end of the passage that goes to the right from your landing spot. At the top go towards the bridge to the left. Remove the power crystal to bring down the barrier.

Slot the power crystal into the node on the left. At the top of the ramp, move the laser so it points towards the device to the right of where it currently points. This activates the other laser.

Go back to the main passage and put the crystal on the right node. Climb up the ramp and point the laser at the node in front of it, which forms a bridge to the chest.

Shadowy Grove Treasure Chest

When you enter the Shadowy Grove from inside some ruins, head to your left to find this treasure chest.

Shadowy Grove Statue Puzzle Treasure Chest

This is the trickiest of the treasure chests to find. You may have seen the various statues around the Shadowy Grove area of Arlathan Forest, as well as the glowing dragon and wolf statues. If you try to interact with these, however, nothing happens.

To get the statues moving and solve the Shadowy Grove statue puzzle, you need to read the note at the small camp first. The note isn't there originally, you'll need to revisit the grove later in the game to find it. This activates the various statues to rotate. Before completing this puzzle, it should be noted that it does summon a level 45 Bursting Rage Demon before giving up the chest, so you'll want to be prepared.

There are six god statues to move around the Shadowy Grove. You want to have five of them facing towards the glowing wolf statue. You'll know they're in the right position when the gem at the base of the statue glows. There is a statue on the ledge of the Shadowy Grove opposite the chest you find in this area, in case you're wondering there the last one is and completely overlook it like I did.

The statue next to the camp (to the left if you're facing the front of it), needs to face the glowing dragon statue.

When the last statue gets moved to the correct position, the rage demon will appear from the dragon statue. It has armor, but no barrier, and is the only demon that's summoned. Upon defeat you're rewarded:

The treasure chest will appear in the center of the clearing when the demon is slain.

Jagged Ruins Treasure Chest

You'll end up in the Jagged Ruins area during the side quest Magic of the Ancients. Complete the puzzle to gain access to the treasure chest at the top of the ruins.

Riverside Ruins Treasure Chest

This treasure chest is on a piece of ruin behind a barrier. To get the power crystal, head to the opposite side of the ruin from the barrier and smash the wooden containers. The power crystal is hidden amongst them. Take the crystal and put it on the node, disabling the further barrier.

Now there's a barrier close to you. Go to the left of the arch and cross to the path on a piece of downed building. Go over the small waterway to the other ruin to reach the treasure chest.

Ancient Aqueduct Upper Treasure Chest

To get to this chest, you'll need to trigger a Fade Tear. The explosion will knock the wall out, allowing you access to the treasure chest.

Ancient Aqueduct Treasure Chest

This treasure chest requires you to move around some of the power crystals on the Tattered Bridge. Power the laser and aim it at a node near the chest. This forms a bridge for you to walk over. Hit the exploding barrels in front of the wall to unveil the path.

Ancient Aqueduct Ledge Treasure Chest

Once this area becomes accessible, you'll find the chest on a ledge along the river with a statue base to its left. It may not look like you can reach it, but it's within jump distance.

Waterfront Glades Treasure Chest

You'll have to wait until you get Davrin's companion quest How to Train a Griffin to access this area of the map. You'll go into the Waterfront Glades, which is where your truffle hunting takes you. You'll also find one of the missing Veil Jumpers in the small cave during the side quest The Plight of the Veil Jumpers.

There are 13 Treasure Chests to locate in Treviso.

Heart and Central Treasure Chest

This is the first chest in Treviso you'll come across, but it's easily overlooked. The chest is in the barred room to the left of the trellis you climb to reach the Cantori Diamond. Between the two is a statue, which blocks you from trying to jump into the room. However, there's a small ledge you can use to shuffle across. Hop into the room for the chest, then use the lever to raise the gate and get out.

Like Dock Town, the Rivain Coast has 25 Treasure Chests.

Hall of Valor Treasure Chest Location

The Lords of Fortune have a single treasure chest hidden in their base of operations.

Head down the stairs on either side of the main area. Keep following a downward trajectory until you come across a small library in the Archives and Storage area of the Hilt.

Interact with the shelf to reveal a small area with a ladder. Climb up to find the treasure chest on a wooden platform. Inside you'll find a Lords of Fortune themed treasure chest.

Necropolis Halls

Visit the dead and find 17 Treasure Chests in the Necropolis Halls.

You can see this chest, high up on a ledge, in the Cascades area of the Necropolis Halls. Reaching it means some climbing. Climb up a ledge, then have Sprite bring out a platform. Jump to it, then jump to the wooden beam on the stone wall. Jump to the next beam, then jump down to the ledge. Jump from this ledge to where the chest is.

This chest is extremely easy to miss. Found on a private balcony, the entrance is shrouded in dark mist. In the Vault of the Beloved, look for a large door on a rocky ledge. Walk through it to appear on the balcony.

This chest appears after completing the side quest Hauntings: From Beyond. After turning in the quest return to the Beacon and then continue past it. The chest appears on the landing of the first staircase.
